Turkish Book Days

This year’s Turkish Language and Literature Book Days took place May 21-31. Throughout the week, students were able to purchase books they will be reading in their Turkish Language and Literature classes next year at a discount in Marble Hall.

In the İbrahim Bodur Library, RC 89 graduate Hikmet Hükümenoğlu spoke about his book, Aşka İnanmayanlar için Aşk Öyküleri (Love Stories for Non-believers of Love), followed by a writing workshop..

Other speakers included Cem Akaş RC 86 who spoke about his novel Y; Murat Gülsoy who spoke about his novel Ve Ateş Bizi Tüketiyor (And Fire Consumes Us);  Doğu Yücel who talked about the fantasy literary genre; and İshak Reyna who discussed editing and translating.

The activities throughout the week were an enjoyable way for students to learn more about the writing experiences and works of the guest authors.
