Farewell to RC 24

We bid farewell to RC 24, the seniors who witnessed both the 160th anniversary of RC and the Centennial of the Turkish Republic. The 157th commencement ceremony was held at Konak Terrace. History teacher Önder Kaya delivered an inspiring faculty speech, followed by keynote speaker Erol Hakanoğlu RC 74, Chair of the Board of Trustees. In his address, Hakanoğlu remarked:

'You have learned well. You have lived an exciting five years in one of the best, if not the best, high schools in the world. You have learned how to think for yourselves, not to be afraid, to trust your intuition. I believe that these are all fine, but please never think that your view of the world is the only one out there. Be humble, be modest, be open to debate, be open to losing a debate when someone else has the better idea. It is like playing chess. You do the best you can and still can lose the game. Just remind yourself that there is always another game to play and win.'

Beşiktaş Governor Oğuzhan Bingöl also shared heartfelt messages, adding to the evening's inspiration. It was a memorable night as parents, trustees, and faculty celebrated with RC 24, who proudly threw their caps at their Alma Mater.
