RC Summer and RC Academy Programs Are Back, Bigger than Ever!

The Opening Ceremony for the 2022-23 Academic Year was held on Tuesday, September 6 in the Maze.

On November 7, alumni from all different years came together on campus for Homecoming, after waiting for so long to slowly return to regular conditions.

Robotics Team competed in the “Pendik Off-Season Robotics Competition” between 22-24 October to prepare for the upcoming season and gain more experience.

The Library team organized the long-awaited Literary Week. During the week of October 25th, many activities were organized to revive and discuss the books and the characters all students have been influenced from.

The Opening Ceremonies for the 2021-22 Academic Year were held in the theater due to incelement weather. The ceremony was held twice, splitting the grade levels, to allow for Covid protocols.

This summer the RCS Academy brought together 60 participants and 10 Robert College teachers and co-curricular advisors. With 13 different half day courses, RCS Academy was accessed by students remotely from 11 different cities in Turkey. 

Class of 21’s graduation ceremeony was held on June 29, 2021 on the Dave Phillips Field, with members of the class of 2021, as well as their loved ones.

RC students and faculty offered RC community over 70 creative workshops from June 21 to June 30.

10th Social Responsibility Symposium for High Schools was organized on May, 2 with the joint efforts of Robert College, İTÜ GVO Ekrem Elginkan Lisesi, Üsküdar Amerikan Lisesi, ALEV Okulları, Korkmaz Yiğit Anadolu Lisesi, and Terakki Vakfı Okulları Şişli Terakki Lisesi.

The Jane Page English Writing Competition Ceremony took place on Friday, April 30th at 16:15. The ceremony was held on-line for the second year due to the closure of the campus.

The winners of the 20th Annual Demirkan Aşetey RC 76 Art Competition were announced in an online ceremony on Friday April 30.

Students dived deep in Math challenges last week! Celebrating the past week as the Math Week, RC community came together in various events ranging from treasure hunt to mancala.

RC Environmental Movement Upcycling Initiative is organizing a limited mini-series called “Upcycling Everywhere!” and hosting guests who are experts in upcycling.

The Woman Up Summit, which took place on 6 March, was a collaboration between the Robert College Junior Achievement Club and the Robotics Club’s “Kızların da Yeri Var” ("There is a Place For Girls As Well") project.

For our Lise 9 student Şems Polat “Math, fundamentally, is an endless world of discovery and understanding relations.” He spends a considerable amount of time enjoying mathematical theorems and proofs. He won the silver medal in the Final Mathematical Cup. We asked him about how he trains, his plans and why he enjoys math so much.
