We have learned with regret, together with the public, of an email sent in 2014 in which the name of our school was mentioned.
The sender of this email, Landon C. Thomas Jr., was a journalist at The New York Times in 2014 and also served at that time as a member of Robert College Board of Trustees. In 2019, his employment with The New York Times was terminated in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Upon becoming aware of these developments, he ceased to serve on our Board of Trustees.
Landon C. Thomas Jr. is not, and has never been, an administrator or employee of our school. The personal views expressed in his correspondence do not reflect the views of Robert College or its Board of Trustees. The recipient of the email has no direct or indirect affiliation with our school, and no donation has been received by our institution from the individual in question.
As a deeply rooted educational institution with a 162-year history, committed to the values and laws of the Republic of Türkiye, Robert College will continue to educate competent individuals for the future of our country within the framework of ethical principles.
