Ergün Gölcüklü passed away on September 5, 2023. Enrolled as a boarding student, Ergün commemorated his years at the college with utter joy. After receiving his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Robert College, Ergün pursued his studies at the University of Michigan and graduated in 1961 with an MSE in civil engineering. As a devout engineer, Ergün worked at leading construction companies in Turkey, undersigning many successful projects until his retirement.
He enjoyed life to the fullest, always keen on appreciating the simple beauty inherent in everyday life. He was a sports, travel and food enthusiast, and loved to play bridge and backgammon. Ergün was the most beautiful and kindest of souls, best dad to his beloved daughters Arzu and Banu, most loving husband to his wife Çiğdem. He will remain deepest in our hearts as the most precious.
