Office of Environmental Education

The Office of Environmental Education at Robert College seeks to engage all members of the RC community in developing a relationship with nature and learning about the impacts of their choices on environmental, economic, and cultural systems.

For students, this happens in the classroom, as well as through civic involvement projects, co-curricular activities or simply as people who spend a good part of each day on the RC campus. With understanding and connection, it is hoped, comes a sense of responsibility and care for our world.

Vision:

The Robert College Environmental Education Office believes that the future of our planet depends on educating young people to see themselves as interconnected with and responsible for a world in which humanity is one element of a complex whole.

Mission:

To build a whole-school culture of environmental literacy and action where students, faculty, and staff experience and understand their world and are inspired to demonstrate a new paradigm of education for the planet.

Robert College Journal of Environmental Education

Check out this link to see all issues of the Journal.

The Journal offers articles on environmental education across the curriculum, as well as stories about beekeeping, gardening and work to calculate (and reduce!) our carbon emissions. See what’s happening inside and outside the classroom and find inspiration for environmental action.
