Alt-pop musician Sırma Munyar had released singles and EPs before, and finally the right time to create an album came: “I felt that I was finally mature enough not just as a songwriter, but also as a music producer and sound engineer to finally achieve this goal. I composed, recorded, mixed and mastered Gökten (From the Sky) in my home studio in Bodrum. It was one of the most meaningful periods of my life. My main instruments were my voice, computer and keyboard, with some percussion and guitar parts that I played.” Gökten was commissioned by Meta and the Facebook Music Initiative, for which Munyar continues to compose. The program hosts several artists and music producers worldwide to compose without any creative interference. Munyar remains an independent artist, working on other collaborations and spending time in the studio until live shows come back in full force.
