Former Turkish teacher and prolific writer Adil İzci has another book out: Sisli Gece (Foggy Night, Oğlak Yayınları). Sisli Gece is a sixteen- story collection, İzci’s fourth, with illustrations by Gülseren Kayalı. İzci maintains that lately he especially enjoys writing stories: “My subject matters have diversified. I have stories on the island and the sea, as well as stories that demonstrate how we primitively and impolitely use media like Facebook and Instagram. The are stories with a strong emphasis on nature, as well as stories about humankind. The collection has already received the accolade, the Story Book of 2024 from YAZAK (Writers’ Academy). İzci will receive his award in May, in a ceremony organized by YAZAK.
