10haber.net is the latest addition to the Turkish online news arena, and RCQ editor Zeynep Karaarslan Başaran joined the new outlet from Diken. She is focusing on popular culture highlights and suggests both fiction and non-fiction books for further reading on them. Başaran’s writing journey started at RC’s Turkish literature magazine Çağrı, and her love of literature found ample room for growth at RC libraries: “Mrs. Göksel, Mr. Smith and Mehmet Uysal taught me so much and encouraged me in many ways, and I am delighted to be able to write about both what piques my curiosity and about the books I love.” Başaran’s recent writing covered subjects such as white feminism and the Barbie movie, the Wagner army and the demise of epic heroes, the Titan implosion and its implications on privilege, and the rise of chess among youth.
