Mehmet Baler passed away on Jan 6, 2023. He was a devoted RC graduate, an active alumnus and a loyal participant at every Homecoming. He arranged class reunions almost every year until very recently.
Inheriting his humor, wit and amiable traits from his father Bal Mahmut and his mother Seniha Yazıcıoğlu RC 25, he was full of positive energy. A rare İstanbul Beyefendi’si, he was social and generous, touching everybody’s heart. A larger-than-life figure, he was smart, knowledgeable and very perceptive. An optimist by birth, he was cherished by his family, friends and almost everyone he met especially in Moda (where he spent his childhood and youth), Bodrum and Kandilli.
He is survived by his daughter Zeynep Toydemir RC 73, his son Mustafa Baler, and grandchildren. His beloved wife of 68 years passed away only two months ago.
