Neşet Baba Eren passed away in June 2022 at the age of 106 and was laid to rest at the Nafi Baba Şehitlik cemetery in Rumeli Hisarı. The great-grand daughter of Nafi Baba, Neşet Baba Eren lived at the Bektashi Tekke during her childhood. She graduated from the American College for Girls in 1939, an achievement she said she took pride in all her life. The same year she married Nuri Eren and lived in countries like the United Kingdom, United States and China, following his diplomatic career. She wrote culinary books on Ottoman, Turkish and Chinese cuisines. Her book The Delights of Turkish Cooking has been an important reference book on Turkish food in many countries.
