Savaş Haşim Arıkan, RA 61, RC 65, and master’s from ODTÜ, passed away on October 11, 2022, in Bursa where he lived throughout his professional life.
During his studies at RA and later at RC, he broke many of his friends’ fingers but never a heart. His endless jokes could fill quite a few volumes of books. Thus, many of his friends might have memories of Savaş much more than those of other people in their life span. After his studies as a brilliant mechanical engineer, he took place among the pioneers of the Turkish automotive industry. He was with Tofaş since its start and worked there until he retired after more than 30 years of hard work as the Manager of Technical Services. He is survived by his only son Cenk. May God rest his soul in peace.
