Selva Vidin ACG 47

Born and raised in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Selva Vidin was the fourth daughter of Ali Rıza Vidin, the head pharmacist of Yıldız Palace, brother in arms of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. She followed the footsteps of her elder sister Şira to enroll in the American College for Girls in Arnavutköy as a boarding student. Her career started at İş Bankası Foreign Affairs Branch, where she retired in the 70s to enjoy time with her friends and family. Her lifelong friendships formed at ACG continued through thick and thin, their tea and drink hours, and travels until the final days of their long and mainly pleasurable lives. Selva Vidin is survived by her four nieces and nephews, five grand-nieces and even a great-grand-niece and a nephew, all of whom are left heavy hearted to have lost their last surviving family elder. — Contributed by Mehveş Dramur RC 96
