Sevgi was highly gifted, had great taste and was very creative. She was also good-natured and always had a positive outlook. After her daughter Banu grew up, Sevgi started a tablecloth business and became well-known for her creations. Then she started organizing events and was invited all over Turkey to plan and organize special occasions. Thanks to Sevgi, our 50th reunion was an outstanding celebration. We were also making plans for our 60th reunion but we were obliged to cancel due to the pandemic. She will be greatly missed. Her friends and family members will cherish her life story, as she wrote an autobiography, published only 100 copies and distributed them among her close friends and relatives. She is survived by her husband Prof. Ali Ekmekçi, her daughter Banu and her grandchildren Nil and Cem. May she rest in peace. — Contributed by Şeyma Bilimer Arsel ACG 60
