Our dear mother passed away on July 24, 2022. She had a kind and gentle personality, deep intellect, a passion for literature and a life full of books and cats.
Her mother, a teacher, had introduced her to literature even before entering ACG. She had completed reading all the literary masterpieces in her early teens. Her devotion to reading led her to build a library of several thousand books. Her frequent reminder of a quote by Joseph Addison has been the inspiration in our journey to academia: "Education is a companion which no misfortune can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate, no despotism can enslave. At home a friend, abroad an introduction, in solitude a solace and in society an ornament." We miss her a lot.
