The first of this year’s many literary events, Celebrating Literature in the Library, was hosted by the İbrahim Bodur Library on October 21-24.
Robert College was fortunate to have award winning author, film maker, mountaineer and adventurer, Matt Dickinson, visit for three days to conduct writing workshops with all students in Lise Prep and Lise 9. Mr. Dickinson shared his inspiring experiences of climbing Mount Everest through photos, video and stories, setting the foundation for students’ creative writing. The resulting student work was extraordinary with many powerful stories, and other literary expressions of what they would miss the most if they went to Mount Everest.
Other events during the week included, the annual Book Character Costume Day and party, unveiling of the library’s new exlibris, literature trivia competitions and displays of new books.
