The RC Social Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Creativitiy Initiative (RC SEIC) organized the online SDG 13 Insight Day on October 24, 2020. This is a start for RC students, faculty and staff to engage in the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 Climate Action. The Insight Day provided a deeper understanding of the climate crisis. The RC Community had the opportunity to listen to numerous changemakers and experts in different fields and share their insights with each other. Speakers included Ashoka Senior Fellow Dr. Uygar Özesmi, Sustainability Lead and Creative Manager of Reflect Studio Serra Türkün, and RC faculty Dünya Önen RC L3 03, Stephen Holz, Stuart Arey and Maria Sezer.
At the end of the day, participants created their teams to apply for the 8 month training program in which they will get together once a month to participate in a workshop focusing on the stages of design thinking. Five teams will be selected to continue the journey. Each team will have a mentor and at the end of the program 3 teams will be chosen to be supported in implementing their projects.
