The RC Community Involvement Program (CIP) connected with communities around Turkey this summer through 18 unique online projects focusing on art, children’s rights, design thinking, ecology, English practice, financial literacy, gender equality, LGS exam prep, marine biology, philosophy, social Sciences, STEM and web design.
RC students facilitated these interactive online projects with elementary, middle, and high school students from Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Edremit, Hatay, İstanbul, Kırklareli, Malatya, Manyas, Malatya, and Tekirdağ. Through these projects, participants developed their communication, design, research and presentation skills and expanded their creativity and curiosity. The CIP Office also facilitated 2 online Leadership Training Programs for L9 and L10 students to help them develop the skills and confidence to lead impactful CIP projects in the future.
Online CIP projects were not limited to the borders of Turkey. Since last year, RC students have been collaborating with students at international schools to share their experiences of the pandemic, bringing together their stories, poems, and artwork in the “Going Viral” online digital magazine. The 2nd issue “Reconnecting with the World” will be launched in September 2021 with contributions from students from the Bishop Strachan School in Toronto, Canada.
