ENGLISH TEACHER

Full-time position

 Robert College English Department is seeking a full-time English Teacher to work with highly motivated students for the 2023-2024 education year. Candidates should be enthusiastic, collegial, knowledgeable, experienced and committed to excellence.

 Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Have at least a B.A. degree in the content area to be taught and a recognized teaching certification from a state educational authority (PGCE suffices for UK applicants). Both the degree and teaching qualification are required for approval by the Turkish Ministry of Education.
  • Fully and highly qualified, fluent English-speaking teacher with excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Preferably a minimum of five years of relevant teaching experience in a comparable secondary level setting.
  • The teaching expectations for strong candidates include a passion for teaching collaborative and student-centered classes, effective use of technology in the learning process, competence in differentiated instruction, and foundational familiarity with ELL skills and strategies. 
  • Should be motivated to be a part of a collaborative team of English teachers.
  • Should be prepared to deliver high-quality instruction, meaningful student assessments, provide constructive student feedback, analyze student data, and use data to improve instruction.
  • Has to be able to maintain instructional practices that establish high expectations and creates a safe and effective learning environment.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

to work in the Dean of Student Activities Office

 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

  •  Assist with co-curricular program and school organizations including all student travel needs
  • Organize co-curricular field trips and Residential Life activities with the Turkish Director’s Office regarding MEB approvals
  • Help organize Residential Life activities
  • Assist with organizing on-campus events
  • Liaison with school’s travel agency and assist with procuring student travel visas
  • Manage and oversee all monetary matters at the Student Activities Office
  • Keep record / archive of all the trips and on-campus events
  • Provide administrative support to the Dean of Student Activities including but not limited to, calendar management, phone coverage, communications, translation and various correspondences with the official authorities
  • Handle highly confidential matters and time sensitive documents
  • Office management including greeting visitors as the first contact person
  • Translation of written documents and making translations, as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree preferably in Administrative Studies
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferably at multicultural environments
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Programs
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented, flexible thinker
  • Be able to provide assistance to the Dean of Student Activities at times necessary outside of normal work hours.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with great follow-up skills
  • Superior judgment, professionalism, a pleasant warm demeanor and a thoughtful approach to administrative support in a team collaborative environment.

ACADEMIC DATA ASSISTANT

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s / College Degree
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in a comparable field
  • Strong analytical skills: well organized and structured, detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.

The position mainly involves; 

 

  • Plan, coordinate, communicate and create a bridge between RC academic information and MEB's e-okul system.
  • Do the data entry of the student information into e-okul. Check, validate and ensure for 100 % accuracy.
  • In coordination with Turkish Director’s office, support school community on e-okul related issues.
  • Create teacher, student and room schedules. Make all schedules and make revisions when needed or requested.,
  • Organize elective lesson choice process.
  • Prepare common exam schedules.
  • Create reports (statistical, informative) requested by the administration and academic departments by using database concepts and projections for past and future academic trends.
  • Maintain both physical and digital office filing systems and be responsible for archiving.

COMMUNICATIONS AND EVENT MANAGER

 POSITION PURPOSE: 

Executing stakeholder management tasks for various constituencies, information gathering, creating narratives, and coordinating events for fundraising and alumni engagement.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communication, Journalism, Marketing, relevant social sciences), preferably an RC graduate
  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in a comparable field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Turkish, with storytelling and writing ability to communicate clearly, directly, and empathetically in all interactions
  • Competence in technology and computer skills, including good understanding of social media and new internet tools
  • Experience in managing mass e-mail marketing platforms
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and coordinate different parties of the projects
  • Impeccable time management skills with ability to independently plan, organize, delegate, and problem solve to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to strategize communications when dealing with varied internal and external stakeholders

The position mainly involves; 

  • Execute tasks in line with Robert College’s communication strategy by disseminating information to the school’s various constituencies under direction of the Head of Communications and Institutional Advancement Coordinator.
  • Assist the creation of bi-lingual (English and Turkish) content under the supervision of the Head of Communications.
  • Manage the mass e-mail process, appeals, acknowledgement letters via mass e-mail marketing platform.
  • Prepare and execute the annual event and communications calendar together with the Head of Communications.
  • Develop and manage all online and offline events, which vary in size and importance, such as the graduation, homecoming, and other special occasions, and support logistical planning of major Institutional Advancement and Fundraising events.
  • Manage alumni inquiries regarding the campus visits and venue usage; coordinate their visits and paperwork.
  • Stay connected with school-wide colleagues to be informed about what’s happening on campus such as new initiatives, classes, and accomplishments to communicate with our target audience.
  • Support the Donor Relations Coordinator in preparing periodical reports.
  • Support the Publications Manager in the drafting and publishing of RCQ alumni magazine; including but not limited to advertising sales outreach and alumni story collection.
  • Be prepared to adapt to the evolving needs of the Institutional Advancement Office in preparation for the fundraising projects.
  • Assist general administrative duties as a member of the Institutional Advancement Team, ranging from answering incoming phone calls hosting visitors, supporting volunteers

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

POSITION PURPOSE: 

Executing healthy record entry and maintenance of the fundraising database, developing charts, tables and reports targeting various parties.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Data Science or equivalent)
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in a comparable field
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Salesforce experience is a huge plus
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Advanced knowledge of other Office Programs
  • Strong analytical math skills, ability to interpret data
  • Proficiency in English
  • Experience in fundraising, non-profit or education sector is a plus

  The position mainly involves; 

  • Enter information to Institutional Advancement database in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance of fundraising database records and files.
  • Participate in creation of mechanisms for database and relevant functions to maximize fundraising.
  • Keep up with database management trends and developments, implement new methods, develop database structure and feature aligned with organizational needs under supervision of the Advancement Coordinator.
  • Support the implementation of new products and services.
  • Responsible for preparing and editing the Annual Giving Report and other fundraising materials.
  • Develop charts, graphs, and report to distribute to management, fundraising team and volunteers. Generate reports as needed and requested to monitor progress of the funds raised.
  • Maintain close ties and good communication with volunteers and advise them in planning.
  • Assist in solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of donors and donor prospects.
  • Contact constituents to acquire, renew, or increase gifts.
  • Assist and attend to Institutional Advancement events.
